Develop practical outdoor skills with our Grounds Maintenance Essentials program. This hands-on course prepares participants to safely operate equipment and perform routine grounds maintenance tasks across parks, schools, commercial properties, and landscaping environments. Build confidence using industry-standard tools while learning safe and efficient work practices.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Operate basic machinery and equipment used in grounds maintenance.
  • Perform routine mowing, trimming, and general landscape upkeep tasks.
  • Apply workplace health and safety procedures in outdoor environments.
  • Maintain tools and equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Work effectively as part of a landscaping or maintenance team.

Nationally Accredited Unit:

  • AHCMOM203 – Operate basic machinery and equipment
  • AHCPGD310 Implement a landscape maintenance program
  • AHCWHS202 – Participate in workplace health and safety processes

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment. This unit provides foundational skills for employment in landscaping, horticulture, and property maintenance roles.

No Formal Pre-Requisites

Open to participants who meet basic language, literacy, and numeracy requirements. No prior landscaping or machinery experience is required.
