Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG)

Complete your Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG) training and gain the certification required to work in licensed venues that operate gaming machines in NSW.

This course equips participants with the knowledge and skills to provide responsible gambling services, recognise signs of problem gambling, and respond appropriately to patrons while complying with NSW legislation. RCG certification is mandatory for staff working in clubs, pubs, hotels, and other licensed venues with gaming facilities.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Understand gambling legislation and venue responsibilities in NSW.
  • Identify signs of problem gambling and gambling harm.
  • Respond appropriately to patrons displaying gambling-related issues.
  • Provide information about support services and self-exclusion options.
  • Maintain accurate incident records and follow venue procedures.
  • Apply responsible service principles in gaming environments.

Nationally Accredited Unit:

  • SITHGAM022 – Provide responsible gambling services

Learners will also be required to complete and pass a mandatory knowledge test administered by Liquor and Gambling NSW. Once completed, an interim certificate will be generated.

Learning Sphere will issue a separate nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.

Delivery Duration & Times:

1 Day; 9am - 4pm 

Employment Pathways:

RCG certification enables employment in roles such as:

  • Gaming attendant
  • Club or hotel floor staff
  • Duty manager (with additional qualifications)
  • Hospitality team member in licensed venues

Entry Requirements:

Participants must be at least 18 years of age and provide valid photo identification. Basic language, literacy, and numeracy skills are required to complete assessments.
