Hospitality Service Essentials

Launch your career in hospitality with our Hospitality Essentials program. This practical, entry-level course prepares participants with the foundational knowledge, food safety awareness, and industry understanding required to step confidently into cafés, restaurants, clubs, hotels, and event venues.

Designed for jobseekers and new entrants to the industry, this program combines nationally recognised training with real-world hospitality expectations - ensuring participants are job-ready from day one.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Understand the structure and expectations of the hospitality industry.
  • Work effectively in a team-based hospitality environment.
  • Follow workplace policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Apply safe food handling practices and personal hygiene requirements.
  • Identify food safety hazards and control risks in service environments.
  • Develop communication and customer service skills for front-of-house roles.

Nationally Accredited Units:

  • SITHIND005 – Use hygienic practices for hospitality service
  • SITXFSA005 – Use hygienic practices for food safety

Upon successful completion, participants receive a Statement of Attainment for the above nationally recognised units. These credentials demonstrate foundational industry capability and compliance with food safety standards required in hospitality venues.

4 days; Monday - Friday 9am - 3.30pm
